About Clark Art Institute
The Clark Art Institute is an esteemed brand that offers an independent Research and Academic Program (RAP) aimed at exploring and redefining the boundaries of art history. Their program encourages innovative research and interdisciplinary inquiry to challenge conventional narratives and address contemporary complexities. RAP hosts fellows who undertake groundbreaking research projects at the Clark, and also organizes engaging events such as colloquia, exhibition concept workshops, and the Clark Conference, fostering thoughtful and passionate debate.
Additionally, RAP actively participates in the Clark/Williams College Graduate Program in the History of Art. Situated in Williamstown, Massachusetts, the institute provides a serene setting with picturesque landscapes, creating an ideal environment for intellectual exploration. Supported by various foundations like the Manton Foundation, the Starr Foundation, the Andrew W.
Mellon Foundation, and the Getty Foundation, RAP's mission is to make art history accessible to a diverse audience while shaping our understanding and imagination of the world
