About CLASP
CLASP, short for the Center for Law and Social Policy, is a national nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with low incomes. With over 50 years of experience at the federal, state, and local levels, CLASP develops practical yet visionary policy solutions to address poverty, promote economic opportunity, and tackle institutional and racial barriers faced by people of color. At the core of their mission is a commitment to racial equity, which guides every aspect of their work.
CLASP recognizes that poverty in the United States is deeply intertwined with systemic racism, and they strive to dismantle these inequalities through their policy, advocacy, and issue areas. Their areas of focus include children, youth, and families, federal spending priorities, health and mental health, income and work supports, and education, labor, and worker justice. By advancing economic security and racial equity, CLASP aims to reduce poverty and promote social and economic well-being for all.
