Classical Equitation

Classical Equitation is the equine service business of Catherine Edwardes, offering a three-skills approach to supporting horses and riders in Hampshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire. Catherine combines remedial saddle fitting, classical riding instruction and Masterson Method® equine bodywork to help identify whether concerns may relate to saddle fit, physical comfort or training.

Saddle-fitting visits include assessing an existing saddle for its condition and suitability for both horse and rider, and exploring appropriate adjustments or alternatives. Catherine aims to help clients make use of their current saddle where possible and does not depend on selling a new one. Her riding instruction draws on classical training, while her equine bodywork supports horses’ comfort and movement.

Catherine’s training includes British Horse Society AI instructor qualifications, Masterson Method® practitioner training, saddle-fitting and saddle-flocking courses, and further study in movement, biomechanics and lameness. Her integrated service is intended to give owners clear explanations and practical guidance, helping them work towards improved comfort, confidence and performance for both horse and rider.
