About ICAA
ICAA, the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to promoting and preserving classical design principles. With a mission to advance the appreciation and practice of traditional architecture and its allied arts, ICAA engages educators, professionals, students, and enthusiasts alike. ICAA offers a wide range of educational programs and resources to cater to different interests and skill levels.
For architecture and design students, there are intensives and workshops. Middle school students can participate in introductory programs. Continuing education courses are available for professionals and enthusiasts.
The organization also organizes lectures, walking tours, and travel programs for the public to explore classical masterpieces. Moreover, ICAA publishes books, including original and reprinted titles, and releases an annual journal called the Classicist. It also hosts award programs, such as the Arthur Ross Awards, to honor contemporary leaders in classical design and related fields.
With 15 chapters and a headquarters in New York City, ICAA has a diverse membership base that includes architects, designers, educators, historians, and more. Members benefit from a robust network of programs, opportunities for networking, and the chance to contribute to the organization's growth. By merging two like-minded organizations in 2002, Classical America and the Institute of Classical Architecture, ICAA expanded its impact and became a national organization.
ICAA is committed to diversity and inclusion and believes that new voices and perspectives strengthen classicism. Each of its chapters across the country offers programming, educational opportunities, and awards programs tailored to the local architectural traditions and members. The organization's dedicated board of directors, council of advisors, and fellows contribute their expertise and creativity to drive ICAA's mission forward.
From its humble beginnings to a thriving network of professionals, firms, students, and enthusiasts, ICAA and its members strive to create a more beautiful and livable built environment. They are guided by the principles of classicism while embracing new voices and diverse perspectives
