Classy Clerical is a fundraising program operated by Ivan the Terrier, Inc., a domestic 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, to support IVAN Library. The library is a one-person microlibrary serving members of the Greater Galveston-Houston LGBTQIA+ community who are isolated, vulnerable, anxious, or non-conforming. It offers advanced, low- and no-cost assistance to individuals and families facing social barriers as they navigate a broad range of products and services, including information, technology, education, small business, medical, financial, legal, cultural, and media resources.
To raise funds for this work, Classy Clerical provides clerical, research, and document services to the public. The suggested donation is $38.11 per hour, but donations are not required to receive services. Whether a donation is made before or after a request is fulfilled, or not made at all, does not affect the stated speed or accuracy of the work. Donations exchanged for services are tax deductible only to the extent that they exceed the suggested hourly rate. Service availability may depend on staff capacity.
