About Anthropic
Claude for Excel, also known as Claude in Excel, is Anthropic’s AI assistant for working with spreadsheets directly in Microsoft Excel. Available to Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers, the add-in opens in a side panel so users can ask questions and work with workbook data without switching applications. It supports formula creation, explanation, and optimization; analysis of trends and patterns; and debugging of errors such as #REF! and #VALUE!.
Claude can also help users understand complex models across multiple worksheets, trace cell dependencies, build or populate financial models, and test scenarios while preserving formula relationships. Users interact through natural-language requests, with explanations and cell-level citations intended to help verify results.
