Clayfield Stables LLC

Clayfield Stables LLC is a family-run equestrian training barn based in Buckley, Washington, beneath Mount Rainier. Founded by Jim and Tracy Coombes, the stable draws on their backgrounds showing Morgans, Saddlebreds, Arabians, and Hackney ponies. Its approach centers on the goals and wellbeing of clients and their horses, combining supportive, innovative instruction with preparation for the show ring.

Clayfield Stables offers riding lessons and training for riders of different skill levels and backgrounds. Jim and Tracy help clients build skills, develop confidence, and pursue their individual goals. The family also attends horse shows with sons Ryan and Alex, competing in Morgan, Saddlebred, and Arabian disciplines. The stable’s website features equestrian news, a gallery, and show-date information, including a West Coast Morgan show calendar.

The name Clayfield recalls the family’s first farm in the Pacific Northwest, where clay-rich fields inspired the name they later chose for their training barn. Visitors can contact the stable by phone or email to learn more about its programs.
