Clearview Valais

Clearview Valais is a sheep farm in Western Pennsylvania, set on a 28-acre property and focused on the Valais Blacknose breed. The farm began when friends Suzan and Laura became inspired by a photograph of a Valais Blacknose lamb and decided to pursue their shared interest in the breed. Its early flock included four Horned Dorset ewes, followed by two Scottish Blackface ewes, as the founders began working toward bringing Valais Blacknose sheep to the United States.

Today, Clearview Valais celebrates the breed’s distinctive appearance and character through its farm and breeding program. The farm says it follows the breed standard shared by the Valais Blacknose Society. Visitors to its website can learn about the farm, its breeding program, and sheep available for purchase, including animals born on the farm. Clearview Valais also provides information about its sheep and invites people to sign up for farm updates by email. Its story reflects a small farm’s enthusiasm for raising Valais Blacknose sheep and sharing the breed with others.
