About CLEEN Foundation
Cleen Cleen is a non-governmental organization known as the CLEEN Foundation, dedicated to promoting public safety, security, and accessible justice. Established in January 1998, their mission is to achieve these goals through empirical research, legislative advocacy, demonstration programs, and publications, in partnership with various stakeholders including government, civil society, and the private sector. The foundation focuses on several program areas, including accountability and justice, building capacity and expertise, research and strategy development, international programs, and public safety and security.
They undertake projects that enhance the accountability of justice sector actors, promote police reform, and implement a rights-based approach to security sector governance. Funded by international foundations and donor agencies such as Ford Foundation and MacArthur Foundation, Cleen Cleen constantly seeks to expand its funding sources. They also collaborate with domestic and international corporations to support community-based projects.
The foundation prides itself on its core values of professionalism, integrity, team spirit, respect for human rights, and innovation. Cleen Cleen is committed to positively impacting society and is recognized for its achievements, having won several awards such as the Best e-Governance Project in 2016. With regional offices in Lagos, Imo, and Edo states, Cleen Cleen operates nationally in Nigeria to promote a safer and more just society for all
