Cleveland Civil War Roundtable

The Cleveland Civil War Roundtable is a respected nonprofit historical society and social group that has been dedicated to the study and discussion of the American Civil War since its establishment in 1956. With approximately 120 members ranging in age from the 20s to the 80s, the Roundtable provides a diverse community of individuals with a deep interest in the Civil War and a desire to learn more about this pivotal period in our nation's history. The Roundtable holds monthly meetings featuring talks by renowned Civil War historians and authors, as well as its own members, covering a wide range of topics related to the Civil War.

Past speakers have included Terry Winschel, A. Wilson Greene, and John Quarstein among others. Participants can engage in stimulating discussions and gain insights into not only the battles but also the people, experiences, challenges, and efforts of the Civil War era.

In addition to its meetings, the Roundtable organizes an annual field trip to a Civil War battlefield or related site, providing members with a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of the conflict. The organization is also actively involved in Civil War educational and preservationist causes. The Roundtable publishes a monthly newsletter, The Charger, and maintains a website and social media accounts for the distribution of information and articles related to the Civil War.
