The trust is overseen by specially-appointed trustees who represent Bristol City Council and North Somerset Council, as well as experts in engineering. The bridge is open 24/7, 365 days a year, with occasional closures for planned events or adverse weather conditions. Visitors can also walk across the bridge and enjoy the breathtaking views over the city and the river.

The trust operates a Visitor Centre on the Leigh Woods side of the bridge, offering educational experiences and tours to learn more about the bridge's history. By supporting the trust through donations, visitors can contribute to the preservation and enhancement of this iconic landmark
