About Climate High-Level Champions
The Climate High-Level Champions (HLCs) play a pivotal role in driving ambitious climate action to create healthier lives and stronger communities. Established as a key initiative within the Marrakech Partnership at COP22, HLCs mobilize businesses, cities, regions, and financial institutions to support governments in reaching the objectives of the Paris Agreement. Their efforts encompass a wide array of campaigns, including the Race to Zero and Race to Resilience, aimed at fostering sustainable practices across various sectors such as energy, transport, and agriculture.
The HLCs also focus on building resilience for cities and enhancing human and social development, while promoting the stewardship of forests, oceans, and biodiversity. With a dedicated global team and impactful Global Ambassadors, the organization champions climate-proofing initiatives for small and medium enterprises, drives innovative frameworks for climate solutions, and facilitates regional platforms for climate projects. By uniting diverse stakeholders, the HLCs ensure momentum in climate action through collaborative engagement and shared goals
