Climate Emergency UK is an organisation that supports local authorities and communities to accelerate action on climate change and achieve faster emissions reductions. It works to help UK councils and residents contribute to reaching net zero at the scale and pace required. The organisation educates campaigners, councillors, council staff and other stakeholders about how councils operate and how to advocate for stronger local climate action. It provides knowledge, data tools and skills for people campaigning, working or lobbying on these issues.

A central part of its work is the Council Climate Action Scorecards, which assess councils across the UK on the actions they have taken towards net zero. The 2025 Scorecards offer a way to explore and compare council progress, with the next release planned for spring 2027. Climate Emergency UK also offers data packages and opportunities to get involved, including volunteering, partnerships, training and events, and its Local Climate Academy.
