ClimatePrediction. net (CPDN) is a pioneering volunteer computing project and the world’s largest climate modeling experiment, operated under the auspices of the University of Oxford. This innovative initiative invites individuals to harness the processing power of their home computers to contribute to vital climate research.

By participating, volunteers can help simulate current and future climate scenarios, enhancing our understanding of climate change impacts on health, energy systems, infrastructure, and weather patterns. CPDN offers a platform for researchers to run complex climate models, leading to valuable insights into climate variability and projections of extreme weather events. Participants can easily join by downloading the free software that facilitates the execution of climate models.

With previous studies addressing issues such as seasonal forecasting and heatwave frequency, CPDN continues to build on its substantial contributions to the scientific community. By volunteering, you not only help inform critical climate research but also play a part in shaping the understanding of our planet’s evolving climate dynamics
