About Climate Scorecard
Climate Scorecard is a global brand comprised of dedicated activists, researchers, and journalists who are committed to supporting the Paris Agreement. Founded in 2015 by climate change advocates Ron Israel and Lois Barber, Climate Scorecard analyzes and advocates for actions that can effectively lower emissions in the world's leading greenhouse gas emitting countries. Their goal is to prevent global warming from exceeding the tipping point of 1.
5 degrees Celsius. Each month, a team of young environmental researchers and advocates compile a detailed report on climate change mitigation efforts in 20 countries, providing a four-star rating system to assess current progress. These reports are shared on their website, as well as on their Facebook and Twitter pages, reaching thousands of visitors and followers.
Climate Scorecard also publishes a monthly Global Spotlight Report that combines all the country reports, along with meta-analysis of climate change trends, which is distributed to environmental leaders worldwide. Additionally, Climate Scorecard has recently launched the High Ambition Country Coalition Campaign to advocate for stronger Paris Agreement pledges from each country.
