Clinical Companions is a patient experience platform from Empath Labs Inc., designed to support children and teens taking part in clinical trials, along with their caregivers and research sites. The platform combines a companion and interactive app to help young participants explore and practice the medical procedures they may encounter during a trial. Through interactive medical play, children, teens, and parents can better understand what to expect, helping reduce anxiety around procedures and making site visits easier.

Clinical Companions also gives research sites tools and new ways to discuss clinical research with families and help patients cope with challenging medical experiences. By supporting understanding, setting expectations, and helping participants feel cared for throughout their trial journey, the platform aims to strengthen engagement and retention while creating a more positive experience for families and sites. Clinical Companions offers information and resources for sites interested in bringing the platform to their trials, including quote requests, trial cost estimates, support, training videos, and FAQs. Special pricing is available for hospitals and academic institutions.
