Close Quarters Boxing Club

Close Quarters Boxing Club is a family-run boxing club based in Mackay, Queensland. Founded in 2023 by Owen and Amanda, the club grew from their shared passion for boxing, which began in 2009 when they trained at Impact Boxing in Cooroy under coach and friend Mark Evans. After spending 11 years in Mackay and exploring different martial arts, they chose to build a dedicated boxing community of their own.

The club aims to provide a welcoming, family-friendly environment where people of all experience levels can train, develop their skills and encourage one another. Its approach is grounded in community and mutual support, welcoming both seasoned boxers and those who are new to the sport. Close Quarters Boxing Club offers classes, one-to-one sessions and events, with bookings available through its website. The club is located at Shed 3, 26 Endeavour Street, Mackay, and can be contacted by email at [email protected].
