About Community Clothing Assistance Thunder Bay
Welcome to Community Clothing Assistance (CCA), a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating poverty in the Thunder Bay area. Since 2006, we have been assisting families and individuals in crisis through our community-supported clothing assistance programs. Our mission is to provide relief and support by offering programs that fulfill the basic clothing needs of those who need it the most.
CCA operates four key programs to address different aspects of poverty. Our Referral Program provides year-round clothing to homeless and displaced individuals through collaboration with our community partners. With over 72,000 pieces of free clothing distributed each year, we strive to make a significant impact.
The Undercover Program focuses on helping children aged 4-14 by providing them with seven sets of free underwear and socks annually, boosting their confidence and self-worth. Through our Hands-On-Work (HOW) Program, we offer job training to inexperienced youth, fostering skill development and creating opportunities for growth. And with our Affordable Clothing Program, the general public can access professional, high-quality clothing at symbolically low prices, enabling them to prepare for work or interviews without breaking the bank.
In order to deliver these programs, CCA collaborates with over 150 organizations and 400 social workers. Thanks to the unwavering support of our volunteers and partners in Thunder Bay, we are able to provide over 6,000 articles of clothing to vulnerable individuals every month. Our values of dignity, community, and hope drive us to make a positive difference in the lives of those facing difficulties.
If you are passionate about making a difference, consider joining our Board of Directors. Together, we can continue to uplift our community and combat poverty through clothing assistance
