Cloudgatedance

Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, founded in 1973 by Lin Hwai-min, is Taiwan's first professional dance company and a pioneer of contemporary dance in the Mandarin-speaking world. In 2020, Zheng Zonglong took over as Artistic Director, leading the company into its 50th anniversary in 2023. Renowned for its unique movement language, exceptional choreographies, and outstanding performers, Cloud Gate has garnered international acclaim, earning the title of a "world-class modern dance company."

The company engages audiences worldwide through extensive tours and large outdoor performances in various Taiwanese cities, embracing its mission to "dance for everyone." Established in 1999, the Cloud Gate Foundation initiated Cloud Gate 2, inviting young choreographers to create new works.

Following a reorganization in 2019, the company continues to present both new and classic pieces, fostering a deeper connection with communities across Taiwan. With an inclusive and vibrant approach, Cloud Gate endeavors to embed dance into everyday life, enriching its audience's cultural experience.
