CollegeOfLPNsHCAsAlberta

The College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA) is the regulatory college for Alberta’s licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and health care aides (HCAs). Its primary responsibility is protecting and serving the public by regulating these professions and supporting safe, ethical practice. The CLHA provides public access to a real-time register, where people can verify a practitioner’s registration and current status, and offers information about complaints, hearings, professional requirements, and the regulatory process.

For LPNs and HCAs, the college provides registration and renewal services through its MyCLHA portal, where members can manage their registration, update profile information, and access learning modules. The CLHA also shares education and professional resources, including webinars, practice guidance, and information about approved practical nursing and health care aide programs. Its work is guided by legislation, bylaws, council governance, and public reporting, including an annual report and strategic plan. Based in Edmonton, the CLHA offers public inquiries and other contact services, and publishes news and resources for practitioners, employers, and the public.
