CLSC Naskapi

CLSC Naskapi is a public health and social services institution serving Naskapi beneficiaries in Kawawachikamach. Its mission is to improve and maintain community health and well-being through general care, health promotion, prevention, examinations, diagnoses, treatment and home support. As a key point of entry to the provincial health system, the CLSC responds to social, psychological and community needs and helps connect people with appropriate services.

Its community programs include psychosocial intake and emergency support, mental health and addiction services, and services for children, youth and families, including early stimulation for children aged zero to six and support related to intellectual and physical disabilities and autism. The centre also offers community and school health initiatives, kinesiology, nutrition, dental hygiene, and prevention and promotion activities.

Physical health services include emergency care, medical appointments, dental services, specialized physiotherapy, pregnancy and elderly home follow-up, pediatric care and immunizations, occupational therapy, foot care, laboratory sampling, screening, vaccinations, radiology and loans of home-care equipment.
