The Club de Motoneige des Plaines is a snowmobile club serving Quebec’s South Shore, with a history dating back to 1972. Following two mergers, the club expanded its territory and now maintains nearly 320 kilometres of trails. Routes extend from Saint-Nicolas to Leclercville along the St.
Lawrence River, and south through rural areas including Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage, Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbinière and Inverness. The trails connect riders with the Chaudière-Appalaches and Centre-du-Québec regions. About 1,300 members belong to the club, which also shares trail conditions, safety information, photos, activities and seasonal news.
Members and visitors can find information about trail-access permits, volunteering and events, as well as an online option to purchase access rights. A seven-day-a-week enclosed-trailer service helps transport snowmobiles between the South and North shores of the river. The club encourages riders to support local businesses for meals and accommodation, and recognizes the landowners whose passage rights make its trail network possible
