Clube Português de Monteiros (CPM) is Portugal’s national association dedicated to big-game hunting and the traditions and responsibilities surrounding it. The club promotes ethical hunting, supports the rights and interests of hunters and monteiros, and advocates for scientifically informed management of natural areas and game species. It also emphasizes the value of rural communities and the conservation of the countryside.

CPM membership is open to adults and young people, with reduced or free annual dues for younger members. Benefits include access to selected big-game hunting activities, as well as opportunities to meet fellow members and put the club’s ethical principles into practice. CPM also provides information and education through training, colloquia, meetings, publications and legislative resources. Its activities include organizing annual dinners, montarias and other gatherings, and sharing hunting calendars, measurement rules and national rankings for big game. The association contributes to debate on the multifunctional role of hunting and works with institutional and academic partners on related initiatives.
