Club nautico della vela

Club Nautico della Vela is a historic sailing club based in the Borgo dei Marinari district of Naples, at the foot of Castel dell’Ovo. With more than a century of activity, it has developed into an established centre for sailing knowledge and experience. The club aims to introduce young people and adults to nautical activities, creating opportunities for education, cultural enrichment, training and community.

Affiliated with the Italian Sailing Federation’s Fifth Zone, the club is also among Italy’s first ten centenarian sailing clubs. Its federation-recognised sailing school serves as a sports development centre and offers comprehensive instruction for both young people and adults. Courses cover offshore sailing, dinghy sailing and preparation for a nautical licence.

The club also organises an annual regatta programme, combining new national or zonal events with long-running traditional competitions. These include trophies for offshore boats, Meteor and Minialtura classes, and the Olympic Laser and 420 classes. The Trofeo dell’Amicizia reflects the club’s emphasis on sharing nautical experiences in a friendly spirit.
