CLUB DI SCHERMA SALERNO

Club Scherma Salerno is an amateur sports association established in 1997 and based at Via Andrea Lauro Grotto 19 in Salerno, Italy. It describes itself as the South’s academic hub for foil and a training ground for coaches and athletes who compete at national and international levels. Following facility upgrades associated with the 2019 Universiade, the club added fencing pistes and modernized its training space, enabling it to host Italian and international athletes during competitions.

The club offers fencing courses and welcomes newcomers to try the sport, advertising two weeks of free lessons for new members. Its activities cover foil, sabre and épée, introducing participants to the distinct techniques and demands of each weapon. Foil is presented as a foundation for competitive fencing, while sabre emphasizes speed and movement and épée combines tactical play with a full-body target. The organization also supports athletes in competition, with members representing Italy at international events, including the Under-20 foil World Cup and the European cadet circuit.
