Club van Ooit Woerden

Club van Ooit Woerden is a local history organisation dedicated to sharing the story of Woerden with residents and other interested visitors. Founded after a reunion of former Havenstraat residents in 1996, the group now holds public afternoon presentations at Careyn/Weddesteyn. From September through April, events generally take place on the third Tuesday of each month, from 2:00 to around 4:00 p.m. Admission is usually free, with visitors invited to contribute toward expenses.

The programme explores a wide range of subjects connected to the city and its communities. Recent and upcoming topics include Woerden’s cheese-making heritage, the Molukan community, local archives, and Het Klooster. Presentations are delivered by invited speakers, and the organisation also issues illustrated cards associated with its events.
