Cluster LLS

BION – Cluster Lombardo Scienze della Vita is a regional life sciences community connecting more than 100 public and private organisations across research, academia, industry and clinical care. Based in Milan, it brings together research and innovation centres, universities, biotech and pharmaceutical companies, medtech and digital health businesses, healthcare providers, and service organisations. BION works to strengthen collaboration across this ecosystem and support innovation, health and competitiveness in Lombardy, while building connections with partners in Italy, Europe and beyond.

Its activities include open innovation, networking, training and internationalisation, alongside support for access to funding opportunities. Through its clinical research initiatives, Tech Transfer Hub, Academy, matching platform and working groups, the cluster helps connect expertise, advance the transfer of innovation towards markets and patients, and develop collaborative projects. BION also shares sector news, organises events and workshops, and promotes science through projects such as TALES, which uses images and stories to encourage dialogue between research and society.
