About Clutch Mining
Clutch Mining develops flexible compute infrastructure for owners of power that is curtailed, flared, isolated, or otherwise underused. The company places modular computing equipment at or near energy sources, creating a productive use for available electricity without drawing on essential power needs. Its projects can serve oil and gas wells, landfill gas operations, hydropower, solar sites, biodigesters, and generator test facilities.
Clutch begins by assessing an asset’s output, availability, infrastructure, location, and current energy use. It then designs a compute deployment and commercial approach around the site’s operating conditions and constraints, with the aim of building a practical path to operating revenue and measuring results.
Its work includes a solar-powered Bitcoin mining installation near Delta, Utah, and a project at a natural-gas generator test facility in Humble, Texas, where six linear generators supply a 1.2-megawatt liquid-cooled Bitcoin mining container. Clutch is also developing landfill gas projects intended to generate power for compute and provide revenue to landfill owners, alongside measurable environmental improvement.
