Human Rights Morocco

Morocco’s National Human Rights Council (CNDH) is the country’s national institution for promoting and protecting human rights. Led by President Amina Bouayach, it works through a general assembly, permanent committees, regional human rights commissions and national mechanisms, including the National Preventive Mechanism against Torture. Its work spans domestic and international human rights priorities, supported by research, documentation and public engagement.

The Council monitors elections and reports its findings and recommendations, observes human rights developments, and addresses issues including migration, children’s rights, women’s rights, digital space, technology and artificial intelligence. Its torture-prevention work includes visits to places of deprivation of liberty, reports and follow-up on recommendations. The institution also contributes to transitional justice and access to information, and engages with national and international partners, including the United Nations and the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions.

Through its digital library, media resources, press space and public information materials, CNDH shares reports, news and reference documents. It also provides information about its structure, activities, events, announcements and employment and procurement opportunities.
