The Council of Architecture (CoA) is India’s national body for advancing the architectural profession and architectural education. It works with government departments, educational institutions and other organisations on initiatives that support the profession’s development. Its activities include promoting standards in architectural education, supporting professional practice and providing information and services to architects, students, faculty and the public.
Through its online services, users can register as architects, renew or verify a registration, search for an architect, access a helpdesk and e-office, or submit grievances, including complaints about misuse of the title “Architect.” The Council also publishes notifications, circulars, judgements, tenders and resources, and shares information about vacancies, internships and employment opportunities.
CoA organises conferences, training and research activities, architectural competitions and student award programmes. Its initiatives include the SHAPE international conference, the SRUJAN event and a network of Training and Research Centers.
