Coast Car Co-op is a 100% member-owned, not-for-profit carsharing service serving British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. It offers an affordable, more sustainable alternative to owning a vehicle, with cars available in Langdale, Gibsons, Roberts Creek, and Sechelt. Members can choose from a range of vehicles, including compact cars, fuel-efficient hybrids, and pickup trucks for moving larger items.
Rather than owning and maintaining a car, members book a vehicle when they need one and pay based on use; gas is included. Bookings can be made online, with vehicles accessed using a member fob, and reservations can be extended by mobile phone. Coast Car Co-op offers several membership options.
Coast Plus members purchase a refundable share for access to lower rates, while eligible full-share members of Modo or Kootenay Carshare can join as Roamers without an upfront fee. The co-op also serves businesses and non-profits, allowing them to register multiple drivers and consolidate billing. Its community-focused model helps members share vehicle costs and access transportation when needed
