About Coast Transit Authority
Coast Transit Authority (CTA) is a non-profit provider of public transportation serving the three coastal counties of Mississippi. As an independently managed public utility, it is governed by a Board of Commissioners and is the designated recipient of State and Federal funding for urban transportation on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. CTA offers a variety of transportation services to meet the needs of the community.
The Fixed Route Service consists of designated routes with scheduled stops and passenger facilities for comfort and convenience. ADA/Paratransit Service provides curb-to-curb transportation for individuals with disabilities who are unable to use the Fixed Route Service. Additionally, CTA offers Special Services such as transportation for senior citizens, nursing homes, and persons with disabilities.
The service area covers Biloxi, Gulfport, Ocean Springs, St. Martin, and D’Iberville. Funding for CTA comes from self-generated revenue, federal grants, and contributions from local governments.
With a dedicated Board of Commissioners and experienced management staff, CTA is committed to providing safe, dependable, and affordable transportation services while working towards future goals of increasing ridership, reducing expenses, and implementing innovative programs that benefit the community
