About COBFC
The Colorado Breastfeeding Coalition (COBFC) is a volunteer organization that has been working tirelessly since 1990 to promote and support breastfeeding in the state of Colorado. Comprised of healthcare professionals, lactation consultants, counselors, and members of the business community, COBFC has led the charge in achieving the highest breastfeeding rates in the nation for Colorado children. COBFC works closely with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to reach communities with historically low breastfeeding rates.
Their mission is to educate, advocate, and collaborate to reduce barriers and support all families in achieving their breastfeeding goals. The coalition is involved in various activities, including infrastructure development, legislation and advocacy, and community engagement. They host the annual Breastival event, a free gathering that supports and promotes breastfeeding.
COBFC also provides resources for healthcare providers, advocates for workplace and childcare accommodations, and supports research projects related to breastfeeding. With a range of initiatives and accomplishments under their belt, COBFC is dedicated to making breastfeeding the norm in Colorado. By joining or volunteering with the coalition, you can contribute to their mission and help create a breastfeeding-friendly environment for all families
