The COBRA project, officially titled "Confrontation of CBRN-Terrorism Threats," is a vital initiative aimed at enhancing the preparedness and response capabilities of law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in South-East Europe against terrorist attacks and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats. With a focus on public spaces and critical infrastructures, the project seeks to tackle complex security challenges through a series of specialized training programs and the procurement of essential technical equipment.

Funded under the EU's Internal Security Fund, COBRA operates from October 2019 to May 2023, coordinating efforts among partners from Greece, Bulgaria, and Cyprus. The initiative emphasizes raising awareness, improving incident response capabilities, and aligning standard operating procedures across jurisdictions. Through workshops, anti-terrorism exercises, and continuous dissemination of best practices, COBRA strives to create safer environments for citizens while fostering cross-border collaboration among security agencies.
