About Cocoa Cure Center
The Cocoa Cure Center (CCC) in Israel is a pioneering research initiative dedicated to finding practical and accessible solutions for challenges in cocoa agriculture. Comprised of a team of renowned scientists specializing in various agricultural disciplines, the CCC aims to develop innovative and synergistic approaches to tackle problems associated with cocoa cultivation. This research center was established in 2018 by Dr.
Ellen Graber from Israel's Volcani Institute, Agricultural Research Organization (ARO), after recognizing the threat of climate change and other factors endangering the survival of cacao plants. Thanks to a generous donation and state-of-the-art greenhouse infrastructure, the CCC has made significant strides in their mission. Their research projects span a wide range of topics, including cacao tree nutrition, genetics of tree architecture, solutions to the Cocoa Swollen-Shoot Virus, repurposing waste for added value, post-harvest processing, and combating biotic and environmental stresses.
