CocoaPods is a dependency manager for Swift and Objective-C projects across Apple platforms, including iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. It helps developers find, integrate, and manage reusable libraries in their Xcode projects, supporting a more efficient and organized development process. The CocoaPods catalog contains more than 108,000 libraries, and the tool is used in over three million apps.

Built with Ruby, CocoaPods can be installed using the Ruby environment available on macOS. Developers describe project dependencies in a Podfile, then use the pod install command to add them to a project and work with the resulting Xcode workspace. CocoaPods also provides tools for creating and validating pod specifications, making it possible to prepare libraries for sharing through CocoaPods Trunk.

The project offers installation guidance, tutorials, documentation, and community support, and is developed openly on GitHub with contributions from its team and the wider community. CocoaPods is supported by a range of companies and organizations. Its website currently notes that CocoaPods Trunk is moving to read-only operation.
