CODEPESSM 17

CODEPESSM 17 is the Charente-Maritime departmental committee of the French Federation for Underwater Studies and Sports (FFESSM). As a decentralized federation body, it brings together 24 associative or workplace clubs and two SCA organizations across the department. Its website serves divers, club members, instructors, and people interested in underwater activities by sharing news, contacts, club information, and an events calendar.

The committee coordinates training and activities through specialist commissions and support groups, including scuba diving, freediving, underwater photography and video, marine biology, underwater hockey, medical prevention, accessibility, first aid, and equipment inspection. Its published training schedule includes instructor and diver courses, first-aid training and refreshers, equipment-inspector training, and practical assessments. The committee also promotes Sport Santé, helping clubs support members who wish to continue physical activity after health setbacks, with appropriately trained educators.

Visitors can consult a directory and map of local clubs, find administrative documents and federation resources, and check opportunities for organized dives, subject to registration and stated equipment requirements.
