Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, formerly known as Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1982 as a local community college. Initially focused on trades, horticulture, agriculture, and business training, the institute has since evolved and expanded its offerings.
