Codvian is a Windows desktop AI coding agent designed to work directly inside a developer’s project. It can read code, edit files, run terminal commands, use Git, and interact with an integrated browser, helping users move from a coding request to tested changes in one workspace. Developers choose from 73 model providers, use local models, or connect their own provider endpoint and API key. Model choice and reasoning effort can be adjusted during a task.
Codvian offers session-based permissions, allowing users to approve sensitive actions, auto-approve safe ones, or grant broader access. Its workspace includes project-linked sessions, file artifacts and diffs, a Task Center for active and scheduled work, and workflows that record and replay engineering actions. The product also provides memory and skills to retain preferences, such as package managers and testing tools. Chats, projects, and memories are stored on the user’s device; API keys are encrypted in the Windows keychain, and requests go only to the selected provider.
