The Coffee Roasting Co., also known as Coffee Company, is a South African specialty coffee roaster based at Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West. Its focus is on quality, transparency and sustainability, with single-origin coffees roasted to order and delivered fresh to customers. The range includes strong, medium and mild roasted coffees, decaffeinated and low-caffeine options, blends, and green coffee beans. Customers can also shop for coffee-making equipment, including AeroPress and Bialetti makers, filters, grinders and milk frothers, with equipment maintenance available.
The company offers hands-on barista workshops covering coffee grinding and tamping, espresso extraction, milk frothing and latte art. Its brewing sessions introduce participants to different ways of preparing coffee. Beyond coffee, the business features the Red Riding Hood Deli, with pantry goods, personal care products, dairy and eggs, sweets, treats, beverages and vegan options, as well as high teas. The Coffee Roasting Co. delivers from Monday to Friday in Somerset West and Strand, and sells through its online store.
