Ron Coleman Mining is a fifth-generation, family-owned and operated quartz mining company that has a rich history and a commitment to quality. Originally focused on mining quartz for commercial and industrial purposes, the mine underwent federal control during World War II. After the war, it resumed commercial operations and was eventually leased.

In the 1980s, Ron Coleman purchased the mine, shifting the focus to commercial mining. In 1991, Ron Coleman Mining opened its public digging area, allowing visitors of all ages to enjoy the thrill of finding their own beautiful quartz crystals. The property also features a campground, providing a convenient and affordable place for crystal enthusiasts to stay.

In 2014, Kevin and Kathy Coleman took over the operation and now run it with their sons, Alexander and Josh Coleman.
