About Colești
Colești, Sat Bihorean is a rural tourism project in Romania that brings new life to the village of Colești by reconnecting its historic homes, residents, and local resources. Presented as Romania’s first tourist village, Colești offers visitors the chance to stay in restored homesteads rather than a conventional hotel. Each property retains its own identity and story, including the name of a family that once lived there, while being adapted for modern comfort. The homes vary in size, layout, and atmosphere, giving guests a choice of distinct village stays.
The project also connects visitors with the community through local producers and farms, whose ingredients are used in the kitchen at Restaurant Muma. By returning old houses to use, supporting local livelihoods, and including village resources in the guest experience, Colești aims to keep local heritage active and relevant. Guests can reserve a stay and experience a living village shaped by its people, history, and surroundings.
