Colibricole

Le Colibricole is an association based in Valensole, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region, working to support environmental transition through practical, community-led initiatives. Its activities focus on reducing waste, promoting responsible consumption and helping people understand how to protect the environment. A central part of its work is local composting: the association promotes and supports shared composting, including a dedicated site in Valensole where residents can compost their food and other organic waste. It also offers education and awareness activities on sustainable development and composting, alongside guidance, advice and support for local projects.

Beyond waste reduction, Le Colibricole organises public and participatory initiatives that encourage people to learn and act together. These include environmental education, community clean-up operations, an Incredible Edible project, a shared garden and events such as discussions and screenings. The association’s approach combines practical environmental action with shared learning and human connection. Through its services, activities and membership, Le Colibricole invites residents to take part in building more sustainable local practices and strengthening awareness of environmental issues.
