Colonel Lou’s Guns LLC is a gunsmithing business based in El Paso, Texas, opened in January 2020 by J. Rod Albano, a retired Army veteran. Albano trained at the Colorado School of Trades, graduating with honors and an Associate of Occupational Studies degree in Gunsmithing in 2019. He also completed manufacturer training and earned armorer certifications for Beretta, Glock, Sig Sauer, and Smith & Wesson products. Since opening, he has worked on more than 1,500 firearms.
The business focuses on repair, maintenance, modification, restoration, and custom builds for customers’ firearms. Its services include work on AR platforms, sights and triggers, metal refinishing, and stocks and woodwork, including stock refinishing. Colonel Lou’s Guns generally concentrates on gunsmithing rather than firearm sales, but keeps a limited selection of firearms that it has purchased and repaired or restored. For customization projects, it is a certified dealer for brands including Aero Precision, Wilson Combat, Timney Triggers, Trijicon, Kick Eez, Ballistic Advantage, Pioneer Gun Works, and Wolff Springs.
