Columbia Road Flower Market is a longstanding Sunday market in Bethnal Green, in London’s East End. At the heart of the area for more than 150 years, it brings together flower and plant traders along a historic street lined with Victorian shops. The market takes place every Sunday, generally from 8am until around 3pm, and offers visitors the chance to browse seasonal flowers and plants.
Beyond the market, Columbia Road is home to more than 60 independent shops, cafés and galleries. Their offerings span art, vintage goods, fashion, homeware, gifts, gardening, food and drink, creating a varied destination for shopping and exploring. Some shops also open during the week.
Columbia Road’s programme includes community events and celebrations, such as London’s Day of the Dead, featuring music, dance, flowers, costumes and a procession. The market and street’s website helps visitors plan a visit, explore local businesses, learn about the area’s history and keep up with news and seasonal highlights.
