Columbia Snake River Campaign

The Columbia Snake River Campaign is a dedicated coalition of individuals, businesses, and organizations, united in the effort to prevent salmon extinction and promote sustainable practices in the Columbia/Snake River Basin. The campaign advocates for the removal of four lower Snake River dams, which pose barriers to salmon and steelhead migration, thereby threatening the ecological health of the region. In addition to dam removal, the initiative supports the replacement of services provided by these dams, ensuring a seamless transition to clean energy alternatives like wind, solar, and geothermal power.

The campaign also emphasizes the importance of fostering sustainable land use and promoting collaboration among stakeholders, including Indigenous tribes, to enhance community well-being and resilience. By engaging diverse voices in decision-making processes, they aim to develop comprehensive strategies for salmon recovery and habitat restoration, ultimately leading to a robust and thriving ecosystem. With a focus on community investment and environmental stewardship, the Columbia Snake River Campaign seeks urgent action to safeguard the region’s natural resources and cultural heritage for future generations.
