About Columbia Valley Airport
Columbia Valley Airport, operating as Fairmont Hot Springs Airport (CYCZ), is a nonprofit organization serving the Columbia Valley in British Columbia. Located in Fairmont Hot Springs, the public airport provides year-round access via a 6,000-foot runway that accommodates aircraft up to and including Boeing 737s. It supports a range of important aviation needs, including medical evacuations, wildfire operations, search and rescue, and personal aircraft use.
During active fire seasons, the airport may host eight to 15 helicopters daily, with some based there for as long as two months. CYCZ is also the only facility between Golden and Cranbrook offering the option of full service around the clock. The organization shares practical resources for pilots, including airport information, usage statistics, and details about landing, parking, fuel, and oil fees.
It also provides airport updates, webcam access, a photo gallery, and information about governance and planning. Community offerings include an open house and fly-in, a newsletter, airport merchandise, and an annual calendar
