COMACO

COMACO, the Coalition for Maintaining Community, is a Montréal-based community coalition dedicated to the well-being, dignity, autonomy, and community inclusion of older adults. It brings together and represents local community organizations that provide essential support to help older people remain in their communities. Through this network, COMACO connects members and partners, highlights their work, and advocates for the resources and sustained funding needed to meet growing community needs.

The coalition offers a directory of member organizations and information about membership, initiatives, achievements, and annual reports. It shares news and resources through its website and weekly newsletter, helping members and the wider community stay informed about issues affecting older adults. COMACO also produces a podcast featuring community professionals, organizations, and older adults, and publishes materials such as an electoral toolkit to support advocacy and amplify seniors’ voices. Its work includes collaboration with other Montréal health and social-services coalitions. Based in Montréal, COMACO serves as a hub for solidarity, information, and collective action in support of older adults.
