Vénus Noire is an art exhibition that pays tribute to the legendary Joséphine Baker, showcasing the vibrant and kinetic works of artist Robert Combas. Currently on display at the Strouk Gallery in Paris until April 26, 2025, the exhibition features Combas's dynamic piece titled JOSÉPHINE DANSE AVEC SES BAKER’S BOYS MAIS YA TROIS DONALD TRUMP, which encapsulates the energy of Baker's dance and the lively sounds of her orchestra. Through his colorful and expressive art, Combas interprets Baker's multifaceted identity as a star, activist, and cultural icon, using themes of movement and vibrational energy.
In addition to this exhibition, a selection of newly created works will be featured at Art Paris 2025 from April 3 to 6. This event highlights the significance of artistic expression in addressing societal issues, with discussions led by notable art historians. Vénus Noire serves as a celebration of both Baker’s rich legacy and Combas’s unique artistic vision
