About Wuppertal Institute for Climate
COMBI is an ambitious project dedicated to quantifying the multifaceted benefits of energy efficiency across the European Union. Coordinated by the Wuppertal Institute and supported by esteemed partners including the University of Antwerp and Copenhagen Economics, COMBI focuses on revealing the broader impacts of energy-saving measures, beyond just energy consumption. Through innovative modelling approaches, the project examines a variety of impacts encompassing health, ecosystems, social welfare, and the macro economy, including labour markets and public finance.
Leveraging data from its open-source online database, COMBI provides an accessible visualisation tool to analyze these benefits effectively. The initiative draws on insights from diverse dimensions to derive actionable policy recommendations, facilitating communication on the advantages of energy efficiency in relevant sectors. Funded by the EU's Horizon 2020 program, the COMBI project aims to foster sustainable development by highlighting the interconnected impacts of energy efficiency for a better ecological and economic future.
